WELCOME TO JEF MALTA
JEF (Young European Federalists) Malta is a political youth organisation working towards a more democratic, united, and ultimately, federal Europe. We are open to all young Europeans aged 16 to 35 eager to defend and promote the European project in Malta. Join us!
ABOUT JEF MALTA
JEF Malta is a non-partisan youth NGO and political movement as well as a student organisation within the University of Malta. Internationally, it forms part of JEF Europe, which also is a non-partisan federalist movement. In total, JEF has over 13,000 members from national and local sections in over 30 countries. Through JEF Europe, we are a part of a massive international network of youths all working towards a more united and democratic Europe.
JEF Malta’s principal goals are to promote European affairs and bring Europe closer to young people while bridging the gap between policy makers and youths in Malta. All of our work is framed within the context of campaigning for a more united and democratic Europe. We believe that our future lies within a more integrated Europe which is closer to its citizens. Locally, we organise debates, interactive workshops, social events and even a debating simulation based on an integrated European Union. Through JEF Europe, we also offer various international opportunities like participating in seminars and training sessions, taking part in Y-FED and also EU institutional visits.
What we do
IDE
The Integrated Democratic Europe project (IDE) is our own original simulation which envisages a context of a more democratic and integrated European Union. It gives participants the opportunity to develop their skills in public speaking, debating and policy making.

In order to promote our mission, we create original written content, usually in the form of articles. Find our published articles in The New Federalist, JEF Europe’s webzine and on the Third Eye, a local students’ news site!
International
JEF Malta is one of the most active national sections that forms part of JEF Europe. We constantly work together with JEF Europe and other sections to promote our goals and encourage European youth participation by informing our members in Malta of any international opportunities.
IDE
