Three years ago, on the 16th of October 2017, investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia was assassinated in a politically motivated murder. Since then, the investigative work brought to the fore by her blog has exposed an unprecedented trail of corruption in the highest echelons of government.
One of JEF Malta’s main goals is to campaign for a European Union based on human rights, democracy and rule of law. The assassination of a journalist is a direct violation of democracy, rule of law, and our freedom of speech. Thus, today on the 3rd anniversary of her death, we once again call for justice to be implemented fairly and impartially by our courts.
